Create a job profile for sales

A job profile for an account manager or inside sales is often a list from an old job ad. In SalesDNA you build it from what you have already captured: your phases, your win points, your weekly rhythm and your KPIs. That way the profile describes the role as you really sell.

How it works in SalesDNA

Three steps, per role.

In the building block Job profiles, the button to this workspace sits to the right of Edit. Per role you build a profile from building blocks that are already in your SalesDNA.

  1. 01

    Choose building blocks

What belongs to the role is on; what belongs to another role is off, with that role shown.

  2. 02

    Build the profile

AI drafts tasks, competencies and result agreements, each with "Why is this here?". You adopt, adjust or leave out, or write your own.

  3. 03

    Use

Confirm as a version; then a job ad text in tone and length, a document in Templates and sharing with the sales team.

If a building block changes later, the profile appears under Review after changes.

The building blocks

A profile that rests on your own method.

For every role SalesDNA looks up the building blocks in your SalesDNA: the phases and handovers of that role, the win points, the weekly rhythm, core values in behavior, KPIs and your promise. Next to every line in the profile you see what it rests on and how strong that is.

That is the difference with a loose document. Capture a new weekly rhythm in building layer 4 and the account manager's profile is marked "possibly outdated". You then choose Let AI revise or Still correct.

Confirm a new version of the profile and Training program and Hiring process appear under Review after changes. The workspace also shows whether the onboarding program is older than the profile, and whether the job ad text still rests on an old version.

AI in job profiles

AI puts it on paper. You decide what stays.

Every line AI suggests has a source in your confirmed SalesDNA. If something is not in there, AI does not make it up either.

AI does

  • Suggest tasks, competencies and result agreements from the building blocks you turn on
  • Show per line what it rests on and how strong that is
  • Write a job ad text in the tone and length you choose, in the language of your organization
  • Suggest a revision when a building block has changed

AI does not

  • Confirm the profile. You do that, as a version
  • Invent facts about your organization or copy sentences from the examples
  • Process employee names: those do not go to AI
Who uses it

Built by whoever edits building layer 5.

  • Owner builds profiles and confirms them
  • Sales manager builds profiles for the roles in the team. Job profiles are fixed for every team: that is the DNA itself
  • Organization administrator builds profiles, without personal data
  • HR administrator reads the profiles, like everything outside building layer People

The sales team needs no account. You share a confirmed profile as a document through a personal link.

Inside sales and field sales: who does what?

A profile starts with a clear division of roles. This article shows how you describe roles instead of people, and where the handover goes wrong.

A confirmed profile is the frame for the hiring process, the onboarding program and coaching.

Do I have to fill in all building layers before I can create a profile?

No. The workspace uses what is already confirmed. The more building blocks there are, the stronger the profile. Next to every line you see how strong the source is, so you also see where something is still missing.

What does "Why is this here?" mean?

For every task, competency or result agreement you can see which building block it comes from, for example Weekly rhythm visits or Value and promise. That way you can explain a profile to a candidate or a colleague.

Can I also turn it into a job ad text?

Yes. After confirming you create a job ad text in the tone and length you choose, in the language of your organization. You keep the profile and job ad text as a document in Templates. The workspace shows when the job ad text still rests on an old version of the profile.

What happens when our sales process changes?

Then the profile is marked "possibly outdated" under Review after changes. You choose Let AI revise for a suggestion with old and new side by side, or Still correct if the profile stays as it is.
